Service Description

First step: Observation. Observations typically consist of two 2-4-hour observations, however, may observe more if the need is there. Second step: Collect and review any collateral. Collateral typically includes discussions with staff, the program director, the lead and assistant teacher(s), and any documentation collected by the facility. Third step: Creation of report. Report will include (if in regard to individual children), report of observations, the defined targeted behaviors, functions of those behaviors, possible strategies to working with the target behaviors, as well as possible replacement behaviors and interventions which may be put into place to foster improved behaviors. *If the report is regarding the observation of a classroom as a whole, the report would include my observations, concerns/possible risks, and suggestions for improvements on better management. *This step can take between 2-8 hours depending on the case [i.e., number of children being observed]. Fourth step: Upon delivery of my report, if requested, in-person training pertaining to the information included in the report can be provided; however, in-person training is not necessary if not desired. Tip: If you have some parents that struggle to acknowledge the problem behaviors, providing a report from an outside source may prove beneficial to turning around their understanding (or thinking) of such possibilities.
